Scramblin' to get the workouts in

Yesterday I had a plan to get my workouts in, but as you know the best laid plans of men and mice.....
Originally, I was going to do a 50 minute run at lunchtime and then an easy spin on the bike after work. But my meeting with the Town went until 1:30 p.m., (was supposed to end at 11:30)and I had to be ready for a conference call at 2:00 p.m. so there went that plan. It is amazing how much people love to hear themselves talk and say nothing! Especially when you are in a room full of political wannabees and pseudo government employees (our Forestry guys). It takes these guys ten minutes to clear their throats before they even start!
Anyway the 50 minute run got blown off but I already know where I can slot it in later in the week. Plan B then became a 1 hour and 20 minute hard effort on the bike as soon as I got home from work. All big chain ring, pushing big gears and try to maintain a steady cadence. Ended up with 31 miles and maintained an 84 cadence. Still felt like I had some gas in the tank so I laced up and jumped on the treadmill for 4.4 miles in 30 minutes with some inclines thrown in every 3 minutes for a minute to break things up.
So for a plan that tanked, I still ended up with a good workout. My legs are feeling it a little bit this morning so today will be a recovery day. Easy swim at lunch and a nice slow run tonight.

sounds Like a good day, I bet everybody else at the meeting was the size of a whale. They nneded to continue the meeting to get a free meal.
